Brexit: Conservative may debate an informal no-confidence in May as she goes to the EU Summit
Brexit-supporting members of the UK Conservative party may hold an informal vote of no-confidence against PM Theresa May on Wednesday, at 14:00 GMT. The special EU Summit on Brexit begins on the same day at 16:00 GMT.
MP Mark Francios sent a letter to his colleague Graham Brady, who leads the backbencher 1922 Committee of the Tories. According to the party rules, the next official vote of no-confidence may be held only a year after the PM survived the previous one, thus only in December.
However, Francios and his colleagues are attempting an indicative vote on the PM's political future, trying to show their strength and weaken her position should she opt for a long delay of Brexit.
GBP/USD continues trading calmly around 1.3050.
