Berlin truck crash: Nine people died and more than 50 reportedly injured

Berlin police have reported nine people killed and more than 50 injured after a truck plowed into a Christmas market at Breitscheidplatz. Also, authorities have confirmed via Twitter that a suspect was arrested near the accident’s scene. The passenger in the truck also passed away on the spot, local authorities said.

According to German Justice Minister’s Heiko Maas, a federal prosecutor was assigned for the investigation, as Polizei Berlin believe is a "terror attack". However, authorities are calling to “not spread rumors” about this tragic event. Berlin mayor Michael Muller said the situation is "under control".
